This class is math 2. In this semester we learned about quadratic formula, algebra and geometry. A subject I liked learning about is “introduction to quadratic equation”. I liked learning about this concept because it was pretty easy, unlike other concepts that were not.
In “introduction to quadratic equation” they give you the distance formula and the discriminant. They also teach you the basic steps like substitution.First, I watched slides to understand what I was going to learn about. Then, I took notes on every slide. I also had to take the assignment that will help me with my quiz. I didn't have difficulty understanding this concept so I didn't have to go back and rewatch slides.I learned how to solve word problems using the quadratic formula and how to substitute or find the discriminant. This tells me about myself that I could really learn the concept well with slides that actually show you the steps and give a lot of details. Two SLOs I've demonstrated during this concept are Applying technological skills for the 21st century and Thinking critically and creatively.I demonstrated the SLO Applying technological skills for the 21st century by taking online math in edgenuity. I did the concept “introduction to quadratic equation” online along with my assignment and quiz. This is important because technology is important nowadays.I also demonstrated the SLO Thinking critically and creatively by using colorful pens to take notes and highlight the most important things, This is important because I am getting better at analyzing and taking notes. The SLO that I could have demonstrated better is Self Directed learner who communicates effectively because there were a few problems that I needed help with, I wouldn't ask my classmates. During this semester of math I have learned a lot of important things, but I really enjoyed learning about the “introduction to the quadratic formula”. I learned how to solve problems using the quadratic formula and the discriminant. What I learned this year will help me in the future by having basic skills for college. By having these skills I will be more prepared in class. |
